Take Your Next Vacation at Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island is located between New Caledonia, Australia, and New Zealand. It has over 170 native ferns and plants, as well as several unique types of sea birds that come to breed on the island each year. It’s a beautiful destination that is open to the public, but it’s not only for the bird and plant enthusiasts! There is so much you can do on Norfolk Island.

There is a golf course located along the Government House gardens that has a nine-hole course and an 18-hole par of 72. The home of Stipendiary Magistrate has been restored to make the clubhouse, where you can watch the action on the veranda as you enjoy a snack or drink. The mild climate makes for excellent conditions all year round.

If full-blown golfing is not your thing, then why not try some mini golf? A well laid out mini golf course is about half a kilometre up Grassy Road. Check out the toys for the kids at the shop while you’re there!

Norfolk Island is home to several Pan Pacific Games medal winners, and is active in many different sports. There is an eight-lane track, surfing, mountain climbing, and many other activities available. Visitors are all encouraged to attend and even participate in these activities.

There are two glass-backed courts open daily that have racquets, shoes, and other equipment available for rent.

There are plenty of activities that involve horses on this island! There are cross-country events held throughout the year and racing held twice a year.

If you’re someone who enjoys a good shooting range with clay pigeons, then you’ll surely enjoy the ones you find on Norfolk Island! There’s also pistol shooting.

Tennis can be played any time of night or day at tennis clubs on Norfolk Island. There are all-weather courts available for both residents and visitors. In addition, there are nearby clubhouses where you can relax and enjoy some refreshments after your match. If you need some coaching, just look for a resident coach to help you out.

Surfing and Swimming

What’s an island without some surfing and swimming? There’s surfing outside the reef at Slaughter Bay, and surfing at Cresswell Bay and Anson Bay. Enjoy one of the prettiest beaches in the world at Emily Bay, or snorkelling at Cemetery Bay.

Of course, there are many other activities you can enjoy when you stay at Norfolk Island, but perhaps one of the most impressive is the resorts. The accommodation in Norfolk Island is high-quality and offers many different amenities for travellers who are looking for a pleasurable time, or businesspeople that would like to treat their clients to a beautiful evening.

These lodges have just a short walk to the shops, attractions, and much more. There are onsite restaurants, lounge bars, and cafes for those who are looking for a relaxing evening. In addition, the individual units at the lodges are surrounded by beautiful gardens. The heated spas, pools, reception, tours, and much more are all on-site, so you don’t have to go anywhere.

These places are truly a one stop shop! Enjoy your stay at Norfolk Island.
